Seavision Products
Answers to all of your SeaVision specific questions.
SeaVision masks are designed for years of enjoyment for divers and snorkelers alike.
The SeaVision Color Correcting lenses are the magenta (pink) lenses you see on our website and what you see as an option to add to your mask when shopping.
These colored magenta lenses were designed and created to be used in waters where there are more rich and vibrant colors to see. This unique, and patented, product is designed to filter out blue wavelengths in the water which allows your eyes to see the brilliant reds, oranges, yellows, and green colors that are normally lost as a diver descends.
For example, at a depth of 25 ft, red is no longer visible to the naked eye and at 75 ft, yellow looks greenish-blue because the yellow light has been absorbed by the water.
The SeaVision technology engineered in the SeaVision Color Correcting lenses adjusts the color bands to allow users to actually see and enjoy the colors in front of them at lower depths.
Our lenses are made with a high-impact CR39 or plastic material. This is to provide you with the best visual clarity and quickest turnaround time.
Our dive masks and goggles contain surfaced lenses that are custom made for each dive mask or pair of goggles. These are not stick-on additions to the mask or goggles.
All prescription SeaVision lenses are produced in our state-of-the-art digital lens manufacturing laboratory that also produces lenses you may order from your optometrist for your eyeglasses.
SeaVision Max Vision (yellow) lenses were designed as an alternative to our Color Correcting lenses.
The Max Vision lenses are to be used in low-light situations such as lakes, quarries, caves, rivers, and night dives.
Max Vision lenses are also helpful when diving in cloudy or murky waters, which could be in oceans as well as lakes or rivers.
These yellow lenses help to optimize available light and help improve vision at the same time. This color helps increase contrast and depth perception in environments and conditions where normal light is diffused.
No. Our dive masks and goggles contain surfaced lenses that are custom made for each dive mask or pair of goggles. We replace the entire lens with a new prescription lens. These are not stick-on additions to the mask or goggles.
All prescription SeaVision lenses are produced in our state-of-the-art digital lens manufacturing laboratory that also produces lenses you may order from your optometrist for your eyeglasses.
We encourage you to watch our 'How It's Made' video to understand our process.
A purge valve is a one-way valve that we insert into the nose pocket of your mask. It allows you to gently blow out any water that may pool into your mask without having to touch your mask.
No, our masks are already prepped once you receive them. Please refer to the care instruction card that comes with your mask for more information.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer fit guarantees due to the very specific, niche nature of our product.
We know that most all people who try SeaVision products are very happy with the fit and we encourage potential customers to read our Google Reviews to learn more.
However, you are more than welcome to purchase the mask without prescription to try it on and send it back for lenses through our BYOM program.
Please visit our returns page for more information.
We are able to make SeaVision prescription lenses for a handful of other dive masks that are on the market. Please check out our BYOM program to see if we're able to make lenses for your preferred mask.
If your mask has a single lens or very large, odd-shaped dual lenses, we won't be able to make lenses for you.
In order for us to give you an accurate answer on whether we can make prescription lenses for your current, dual-lens mask, please email us at support@seavisionusa.com.
Due to the custom nature of our prescription dive masks, we do not offer returns.
However, if you order one of our masks without a prescription, we offer a 30-day return policy as long as the mask is unused within any type of water.
your prescription
Answers to questions regarding your prescription.
To get started, all we need is your current eyeglass lens prescription and your PD (pupillary distance) measurement. Your eye doctor will know what these items are if you don't know yourself.
Once we have this information, which can be inputted as part of your online order, we will start creating your very own SeaVision prescription dive mask or swim goggle lenses.
We can provide vision correction lenses for many mask types. Please check out our BYOM program to learn if we're able to make lenses for your preferred mask.
If we're able to manufacture lenses to fit your mask, we will gladly help you out.
Should your mask type not be one we're able to create lenses for, we encourage you to pick a SeaVision mask and submit your prescription
Many SeaVision customers just need help with seeing up close. We can customize your lenses with single vision, bifocal, or our Gauge Readers.
Our Gauge Reader lenses are a non-prescription bifocal with a +2.00 add to help you see up-close objects. These lenses can be placed in the mask of your choice.
Your PD or Pupillary Distance measurement is the distance between your pupils. More often than not, your eye doctor will not include this measurement on your prescription. However, they will normally keep this information on file and will provide it to you over the phone.
Another way of obtaining your PD measurement is by downloading an app on your phone that will measure it for you for free. Check your App Store for "PD measurement."
Most people will know what type of lenses they need.
- If you look at your prescription and don't have an ADD power then you will want single vision lenses and nothing else.
If you have an ADD power, then the bifocal option would greatly benefit you. However, depending on your underwater activities, this may change.
- If you plan to only use your mask for snorkeling, then you will find zero use for a "reading area" or your ADD power. In this case, I would suggest selecting single vision to accommodate your distance prescription.
- If you are scuba diving or need to frequently read or view things such as dive watches, computers, underwater photography, etc., then I would suggest sticking with the bifocal option.
Our bifocals are located on the outside of the lenses and because of this we have to account for the refraction of water in the manufacturing process. So, the ADD power will be much, much higher above water but once you submerge the bifocals will correct to your true prescription.
Warranties
Answers to questions regarding our warranties.
All of our masks, prescription or non-prescription, come with a one-year manufacturers warranty against any manufacturer defects including leaking or defective parts.
Please reach out to us if this applies to you.
Our scratch warranty provides up to one year of protection for your lenses. It works alongside the manufacturer’s warranty, covering any defects while also allowing you to replace your lenses once within a year if they become scratched or damaged. However, this warranty does not permit any changes to the lenses, such as modifications to prescriptions, coatings, or lens types.
Our Ultimate Warranty is an independent warranty that does not combine with any other coverage. It offers a one-time replacement within one year for any reason, including dissatisfaction with your mask’s fit, prescription changes, lens type adjustments, and more.
